Hindi is the most wide spoken language in the Asia, 50 million native speakers in India. It is written in Devanagri script and is based on khadiboli dialect of Delhi. It is the official language of India. Vernacular dialects of the language are spoken allover the country. Standardized Hindi is taught to children in schools. 9 out of 28 states and 3 Union Territories have excepted Hindi as their official language. The language draws its vocabulary from Sanskrit language.
The Hindi standard, from which much of the Persian, Arabic and English vocabulary has been purged and replaced by tatsam words, is called Shuddha Hindi (pure Hindi), and is viewed as a more prestigious dialect over other more colloquial forms of Hindi.
